🏛 About Department of Youth Development (DYD)

Establishment of the Ministry of Youth & Sports: 1978

Establishment of DYD under the Ministry: 1981

Status of DYD: Public

Working area: Entire Bangladesh

Target group: Unemployed youths aging from 18-35 years

Vision: Involving the youth in mainstream of nation development process by making them organized, disciplined and productive workforce.

Objectives: To involve the youth in socio-economic activities; encourage them towards productive employment; ensure their participation in decision making process, form youth organizations.

Manpower of DYD: 6,888

Activities: Skill Development Training (74 trades), Micro-credit (individual and group), self-employment, entrepreneurship development, youth organizations, wages employment program (National Service Programs), public private partnership programs etc.

At a glance progress (since inception to Dec 2013): Number of trained youths: 41,12,490 | Self-employed youths: 20,02,436 | Loan disbursed: Tk.1,21,355.85 lakh | Number of beneficiaries: 8,05,260 | Enlisted youth organizations: 16,197
